किसी का नंबर ढूंढते
उसके पुरानी ज़िन्दगी से रू-ब-रू हो बैठे

उन दिनों की याद आ गयी
जब,
डर था
शर्मिन्दिगी थी
दर्द था
मगर आवाज़ नहीं थी

लम्बा रस्ता तय किया हैं वहां से
उसने भी
मैंने भी

अब,
लब आज़ाद हैं
इरादा है
हिम्मत है

तुम वहां चलो, मैं यहाँ
आखिर मंजिल तो एक ही है!

The English translation:

You walk there, I will walk here…

I learnt of her life story while searching for her phone number
It reminded me of my own
When there was fear
There was shame
There was pain
But there was no voice

We’ve both come a long way since then
She and I, both

Now,
The tongue is free
There’s an intention to fight
And there’s courage in the heart

You walk where you stand now, my friend
And I will walk here
And our paths shall meet. Amen!
