“Why do you keep writing on the computer? Get a diary instead.”
“How will that help?”
“You’ll only need to carry one thing around. Just open the page and write – wherever and whenever.”
“But it’s so much easier to type. I have almost forgotten to write.”
“You mean the physical aspect of putting pen to paper?”
He nodded in agreement.
“Why do you then always carry a pen.”
“I carry a Mont Blanc; that’s to sign cheques. I stopped writing when my first book made some money. Since then, I’ve always typed – opinion pieces, views on dance shows, movie scripts – you name it and I have done it.
“I might be even up for a seat in the Parliament next year. They say I have a good chance. The party president’s media adviser reads me. He even quoted me on TV a few times. You remember the riots before the election; I had defended them then. Now it’s time to return the favour.”
