As the world celebrates the 70th year of the end of the Second World War, I dig out a travel vignette from Hong Kong.
A statue of John Robert Osborn, Victoria Cross of the Winnipeg Grenadiers at Hong Kong Park. The memorial reads: John Robert Osborn and through him all those men and women, Service and Civilian, of every race and creed who performed acts of gallantry and self sacrifice in the defence of Hong Kong in December 1941.
